Osteoporosis

This excerpt is from an MoA, and shows a photographic style Osteoclast.

An osteoclast is a large cell that is 40 micrometer in diameter. They contain 15-20 oval closely packed nuclei. they are found in bits in the bone surface which are called resorption bays or Howships Lacunae. Bone has constant turnover, and is kept in balance (homeostasis) by osteoblasts creating bone and osteoclasts digesting bone. Bisphosphonates inhibit the digestion of bone by osteoclasts.
